I had lots of voters and they were all very impressed with your stories!!! Thanks to my voters!!

I wanted to post Whitney's story, so that is what you see below!! Enjoy...and Merry CHRISTmas!!!

In Aldrige, England there lived a girl named Maggie Brannigan in the Apple Tree Orphanage. The orphanage was horrible, the owner of Apple Tree Orphanage was Walter Green. He was a mean old man who didn't care about any of the kids just as long as he was paid. Her parents left her in a basket on the front porch of the orphanage when she was a newborn. Now she is five and she wonders everyday when her parents are going to come get her. There are about 27 girls in her room and they are rude to her and make fun of her all the time. She lies in bed every night and just wonders what her parents look like or their personalities. Every thursday different couples came and looked at all the kids and no one ever chose her because she would hide because she just knew her parents would come and rescue her. But one day she realized their not going to come and she just gave up. Christmas was coming close and her big christmas wish was just to have parents who love her. She went on day by day just playing by herself and excited about Christmas. On the thursday before Christmas their was this couple who were as sweet as could be and they just walked over to her and talked to her. She fell in love instantly, the lady was beautiful just what she pictured her mother like. They asked her if she would like to come home with them and she just lit up like a lightbulb. Of course she said yes and she packed her bags and told everyone goodbye. When she walked into their home she just started crying because she never thought this day would come. They had her bedroom ready for her, it was decorated in pink and had so many babydolls. A lot better than the orphanage!! The next day was Christmas and she was ecstatic, her new parents tucked her into bed and told her how much they loved her and were happy to have her. She jumped out of bed that morning and ran into the living room and there were her presents from Santa. That day was the best day of her life and the best Christmas ever!!! THE END!!

Five Senses of CHRISTmas

Write about the five senses as they relate to your CHRISTmas experiences:
  • The smells of Christmas
  • The sights of Christmas
  • The sounds of Christmas
  • The touches of Christmas
  • The tastes of Christmas
Then find (and post) a picture to sum up all of these senses...or use a couple, if you can't find just one!!

And just for fun...click here for a countdown to Santa's arrival and to track him on CHRISTmas Eve!! And here for a fun interactive Nativity story. Then here for a "hype or history" documentary of the birth of Jesus.

Ok...enough links...I wish you all a VERY Merry CHRISTmas!!! You only have one more semester of school!!!! Can you believe it?? Y'all have been so much fun this semester--can't wait to see what 2009 brings!!! Love y'all tons!!! --Coach K :)

Room 101 & Christmas Cards

Interesting title, huh!?! :P I know, these are completely random, but I think you have all come to expect that from me anyway!!!

What would be in YOUR Room 101? I'm talking about if you were sent to Room 101, what would be in there? Tell me about it and why. Also, find a picture that would depict your Room 101. In case you can't tell from the picture at the top of my post today, I am claustrophobic; so my Room 101 would be really confined...or they would find some way to confine me and make me feel like I was trapped!!! YUCK...makes me scared just thinking about it--I'm taking deep breaths as I type!!

Moving on......

I want you to go here and send a soldier a CHRISTmas card. You can send as many as you want; it is a really awesome deal!!

Happy Friday!!

Christmas Story

You are going to pick one of the following pictures...make sure you scroll down all the way--there are LOTS from which to choose! Once you have made your choice, you will write a Christmas story relating to that picture. You can pretend you are actually in the scene or simply make up a story about the picture. Either way, I want these to be VERY creative!! I also want a STORY not just a couple of sentences describing what you see!! You will need to include the picture you are using in your post. You should be able to just drag the one you want to your desktop and then insert it from there into your post.

I am going to have a couple of "judges" pick the best stories and the winners will receive a Christmas surprise, so work hard!! :)

Remember...Santa is watching you, so make sure you behave and keep these school appropriate!!! And, of course, have fun!!!
